Greetings from Oxford
Last week, Eleanor, Marc and Katharina attended Marmelade events at the Skoll World Forum in Oxford - think of it like the World Economic Forum for nonprofits.
What a great opportunity to connect with the world’s key players - big philanthropists, (potential) strategic partners, and old friends. It was great catching up with Connective Impact, Lever for Change, Adara Group, We Care Solar, and others. Together, we have big plans!
Beyond forging and fortifying partnerships, the forum provided a valuable platform for convening some of our Senior Staff in person, fostering meaningful dialogue on strategic imperatives and charting the course for our collective vision.
Reflecting on our time in Oxford, we are invigorated by the depth of insights gained and the bonds forged. Here are a few key takeaways that have crystallized from our enriching experience:
Collaboration Amplifies Impact: Our interactions underscored the transformative power of collaboration. By pooling resources, expertise, and networks, we can catalyze change on a scale previously unimaginable. Our existing partnerships with We Care Solar, ELMA, Adara and others are a great proof for this.
Innovation as a Catalyst: The forum served as a catalyst for innovation, sparking discussions on cutting-edge solutions and novel approaches to address pressing global challenges. We were introduced to new technical solutions that could further improve our Mama Rescue Platform.
Community and Connectivity: Beyond the exchange of ideas, the forum fostered a sense of community and connectivity - a reminder of the collective strength inherent in our shared pursuit of social good. We’ll continue to strengthen our work with local community health workers.
Stay tuned as we translate the insights gained at the Skoll World Forum into tangible actions that propel us towards our shared vision of a better tomorrow: transforming the quality of reproductive, maternal, and newborn care in Uganda.
